Lipid metabolis disorders are among the most frequent hereditary disorders leading to stroke, coronary thrombosis and elevated blood pressure. In an ongoing project together with the University Hospital Eppendorf of the University of Hamburg Congenics identifies hitherto unknown disease genes by means of its genome wide association screen technology. The project is being funded by the BiochancePlus program of the German Federal Department of trade and industry.
