Through innovative imaging technology the Molecular Imaging Center North, founded by the Countries Schleswig-Holstein and Hamburg, investigates the molecular and physiological basis of decision making in situations that presumably involve the so called „brain reward system“. This system is thought to play a fundamental role in processes as diverse as moral behavior and addiction. Congenics is research partner in molecular genetic association studies.
