Schizophrenia is a disorder or rather a group of disorders affecting up to one percent of the general population. Despite grand efforts during the last decades and a strong genetic component only few consistent disease genes have been identified. Congenics is the research partner of the University of Düsseldorf in a project aiming to systematically examine genes involved in neuronal degeneration and regeneration.
